Dr. Cora ‘Charles’ Zachary is a dynamic and accomplished individual known for her diverse roles in the field of education as Vocational Coordinator, New Teachers Administrator for the Atlanta Public Schools and Coordinator of African curriculum infusion. Her most memorable career path was in 1980 when the Late, Dr. Alonzo A. Crim and the Former President of Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, Dr. William F. Ford appointed her as Atlanta’s First Director of a Financial Banking Magnet Program at Charles Lincoln Harper High School. During her ten-year tenure, 95% of graduates matriculated to colleges and universities throughout the world. Many of her former students hold positions today in the fields of finance, real estate, micro and macro economics or related fields. A few of these students and others whom she has met over the years are the professionals and experts in their fields who will direct our audiences to a happy and successful life. Additionally, Dr. Charles is known for her diverse role as a serial entrepreneur. In 1983, Charles Phillip Arthur George, the Former Prince of Wales (1958-2021) visited Harry and Cora’s Home Decorating Center because the name of their business was: Prince Charles Home Decorating Center.
Dr. Cora, as many affectionally call her, has been blessed to travel the world. She began traveling internationally 30 years ago. Please note on a collage the many international states and countries in Asia, Brazil, France, England, Italy and Spain. She states: “Travel is one of the best ways to expand your horizons and learn new things.” Not only will one learn to respect and appreciate other cultures but will also learn how to adapt to different environments and gain the necessary skills to be successful in life.
Travel allows one to gain a broad perspective on world issues, putting what one has learned in formal education into perspective. Another valuable skill that travels teaches one is empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand the viewpoints and behavior of others. It improves teamwork and group dynamics, which helps people cope with change.
Financial Literacy has allowed me the ability to visit some of the most beautiful places.
